2021 June Fling Artists

19th ANNUAL JUNE FLING COMES BACK SWINGING – Oneonta’s Family Fun Festival Returns.

After a one-year hiatus due to COVID-19, the 19th Annual June Fling will return the second weekend of June.
Sponsored by the Oneonta Business Association, the fun will begin on Friday night, June 11, at 6:00 p.m. with a new
prelude called Swing into the Fling, featuring the music of the Shepherd Becker Quintet who will deliver smooth
vocals and musical interpretation of original compositions and select standards from the likes of Gershwin, Porter,
Carmichael, and Mercer. “After a year of decreased activity, we encourage folks to enjoy the music and dance under
the stars,” shared board president Greg Brown. The Swing is free to the public who can bring lawn chairs. The VIP
Experience will provide stage-front table seating, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and drinks, chances to win sensational door
prizes, and a commemorative wristband. VIP tickets are $30 and available at www.junefling.com or call
205.813.7194. There will also be food and drinks available for purchase from local restaurants and food trucks.

The June Fling on Saturday, June 12, will feature a diverse and compelling mix of fine arts, local craftsmanship,
engaging musical performances, and fantastic eats. The Kidz Fun Zone will include many free activities including a
32-ft. Game Zone truck with its climate-controlled video theater boasting seven gaming stations so up to 28 can play at once, pony rides, petting zoo, games, and giveaways. A face painter, magician, balloon artist, and other activities will be available for children.

The Fling Cruise‐In invites owners to exhibit their treasured rides—classic or new—including cars, trucks,
motorcycles, ATVs, and off-road vehicles. Participation is free, but you must check in at 4th Street and be directed to your parking area. Each vehicle will be given a number for a chance to win a hefty gift basket to be given away in a drawing on stage at 3 p.m. for which you must be present to win.

At 11:00 a.m., local models and shops will present Explore Oneonta’s Fashions showing the latest trends and
accessories available. To participate, call 205.813.7194 and we will forward your inquiry to directors Kym Payne
and Treieva Oakley.

The Fling will showcase artists specializing in painting, stained glass, jewelry, sculpture, pottery, fiber art,
woodwork, photography, and much more. In fact, the 15 artists of the OBA Art Walk are invited to display and sell
their creations. Walking tours of the OBA’s murals will also be available. There are currently 119 booths registered
and the number is growing daily! Registration is available at www.junefling.com where you will find booth rules and
a list of those already accepted.

Entertainment on the Explore Oneonta main stage will include the Addison Rose Band, Allen Tolbert Unit,
Crossing Dixie, and the Showdown Showcase. While there is no singing contest as in years past, winners Haley
Satterfield, Martha Chasteen, Sam Knowles, Shay Doty, and Katie Parrish will share in the reunion showcase.
Headliner will be the American Flyers Show Band from Atlanta who will present smash hits from the past four
decades of rock and R&B. At the secondary Community Arts stage, local talent from the Community Arts Council,
OHS Majorettes, Art Alive, Clog Wild Cloggers, Miss Kelley’s School of Dance students, and others will perform.

Sip, savor, shop, and stroll throughout the festival venue in beautiful downtown Oneonta. Admission is free. Hours
